on the eastern edge of the Himalayas. It borders just 2 countries with <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/china-map\/\">China<\/a> located to the north and India to the south. Although both <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/nepal-map\/\">Nepal<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/bangladesh-map\/\">Bangladesh<\/a> are near Bhutan, these countries don&#8217;t share a border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-17-16-15-font-size\">The origin of the name &#8220;Bhutan&#8221; is \u201cLand of the Thunder Dragon&#8221;.&nbsp;This is derived from the thunderous storms that occur in Bhutan due to the Great Himalayas Range.
