It&#8217;s also the only region with 3 divisions, as the others only have 2. With major cities like <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/dallas-map-texas\/\">Dallas<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/houston-map-texas\/\">Houston<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/washington-dc-map-district-of-columbia\/\">Washington DC<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/miami-map-florida\/\">Miami<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/atlanta-map-georgia\/\">Atlanta<\/a>, the area is known for its diverse cultures and warm climates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>South Atlantic (Division 5)<\/strong> contains the states of Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Altogether, this is the highest number of states within a division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>East South Central (Division 6)<\/strong> consists of Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee. It sweeps a broad area and includes the Rocky Mountains, and the Pacific Coast to the west, as well as the states of Alaska and Hawaii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s also situated west of the Mississippi River with major cities like <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/los-angeles-map-california\/\">Los Angeles<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/phoenix-map-arizona\/\">Phoenix<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/denver-map-colorado\/\">Denver<\/a>. It also includes <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/san-francisco-map-california\/\">San Francisco<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/gisgeography.com\/seattle-map-washington\/\">Seattle<\/a>, which and are home to some of the largest technology companies in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mountain (Division 8)<\/strong> contains the eight following states just to the east of the Pacific coast &#8211; Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Montana, Utah, Nevada, and Wyoming. Whereas <strong>Pacific (Division 9)<\/strong> is characterized by the coastal states of Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\"
