No matter how you look at it, this is a stylish way to look at the weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ventusky uses data from the best weather forecast models in the world.  Although this Czech team of meteorological experts knows the weather best, they certainly have a way to visualize it too. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. In other words, as soon as the data are available, the delay is minimal between the data acquisition and delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using WebGL and Cesium, NASA can put this near real-time weather map together. Of course, they have to do it NASA-style. Using near real-time weather data, it&#8217;s what made this map viral.  But it\u2019s not only weather, you can see current wind, weather, ocean, and pollution conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using supercomputers, Earth Null School forecasts these weather patterns updating the weather map every 3 hours.  While the weather is based on NOAA\u2019s global forecast system, ocean currents are based on OSCAR.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. So how do they get their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lightningmaps.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">real-time lightning map<\/a> to work anyhow?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This map uses data from the Blitzortung lightning detection network. When the lightning receiver detects electromagnetic discharges from the atmosphere, it estimates the lightning strike location based on the time of arrival and position of the receiver.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. The 3D <a href=\"http:\/\/k9.github.io\/globe-viewer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">night-day boundary map<\/a> illustrates which parts of the Earth people are fast asleep and are wide awake.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7.
