AT-6 "Texan"








Landing at Perrin Air Force Base, for the first time, Aviation Cadet Jefferson F. Avery alight from his AT-6 "Texan". Not only was Cadet Avery the first cadet to arrive at Perrin since its reactivation, but he was one of the first of 240 cadets who flew for the first time here yesterday.
Prior to his frist flight at Perrin Air Force Base, Aviation Cadet Jefferson F. Avery receives last minute instructions from instructor 1st Lt. Elmer Black. The instructor rides in the rear cockpit of the AT-6 "Texan", the cadet in front. Over 240 cadets took to the air yesterday at Perrin for the first time.
